ATMS 744 - Advanced Synoptic Meteorology (3 units) Numerical and observational weather analysis techniques for synoptic-scale and mesoscale metrological prediction using computer models, satellite, radar and other tools.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate competency in operational weather forecasting over a wide variety of geographical settings. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the role of topography, water bodies and urban areas on weather. 3. Students will be able to demonstrate how to use in-situ and remote sensing measurement methods to aid in predicting and diagnosing weather.
