BASQ 406 - Basque Conversation and Composition II

(3 units)
Syntax and idiomatic usage in spoken and written Basque. Concentration on verb forms. Offered through USAC only.

Prerequisite(s): BASQ 405 .

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to describe and understand oral texts, such as the retelling of events in a sequential order, casual conversations, short stories, et cetera.
2. Students will be able to interview native Basque speakers to collect information regarding an assigned topic.
3. Students will be able to summarize information on the web, printed material, videos or newspapers on the assigned topic.
4. Students will be able to compose and polish five pieces of writing.
5. Students will be able to analyze and identify the main linguistic and pragmatic features of different types of texts.
6. Students will be able to apply linguistic declarative knowledge to their own writing.
