Animal function from a comparative perspective with emphasis on vertebrates.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 191 ; BIOL 192  or NRES 217 ; CHEM 122A  and CHEM 122L  or CHEM 202 ; MATH 127  or higher.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to explain how physical environments affect how animals function.
2. Students will be able to explain how many aspects of animal function are determined by physical and chemical processes (e.g., heat exchange, total fluid energy).
3. Students will be able to apply rigorous mathematical reasoning to problems in animal physiology.
