Introduction to various mathematical tools used in modeling ecological phenomena, discussion of models in ecological literature, development of a simulation model as a project.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to evaluate simulated estimates of ecosystem characteristics.
2. Students will be able to produce models that include ecosystem dynamics.
3. Students will be able to identify components of ecosystem energy budgets.
