CHE 475 - Principles of Bioengineering (3 units) Introduction to bioengineering principles and application to engineering processes. Topics include cell growth, industrial fermentation, pharmaceutical processing, waste treatment, mass transfer, bioreactor design and control.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 121A and CHEM 121L or CHEM 201 ; Junior or Senior standing.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering. 2. Students will have an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems. 3. Students will have a knowledge of contemporary issues. 4. Students will have an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
