CHS 362 - Athletic Injuries (3 units) Prevention and treatment of common athletic injuries, including classroom application.
Prerequisite(s): Junior standing.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to interpret and apply the following concept as it relates to athletic injury: the components of the sports medicine team and its relationship with the Athletic Healthcare System, including organization and administration and liability and legal concerns. 2. Students will be able to interpret and apply the following concept as it relates to athletic injury: methods of injury prevention, including taping and bracing options, physical strength and conditioning, and protective equipment and playing surfaces. 3. Students will be able to interpret and apply the following concept as it relates to athletic injury: recognition and management of specific injuries and conditions.
