CHS 730 - Biomarkers of Human Disease (3 units) Theoretical concepts and practical issues in conducting research involving biomarkers in human exposure studies as well as in disease detection.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to critically evaluate and synthesize scientific literature. 2. Students will be able to evaluate, justify, and apply appropriate methodological and analytical approaches to address public health research questions . 3. Students will be able to construct and evaluate models for causal inference and demonstrate their practical application to epidemiologic data. 4. Students will be able to examine biologic models of disease etiololgy. 5. Students will be able to apply biological and molecular concepts into epidemiologic research design.
