CHS 743 - Advanced Seminar: Health Policy and Politics (3 units) Intensive study of issues of health policy and politics.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to describe the legal and ethical bases for public health and health services. 2. Students will be able to communicate health policy and management issues using appropriate channels and information system technologies. 3. Students will be able to distinguish the main components of the policy process as it applies to improving population health outcomes. 4. Students will be able to utilize aspects of program planning, development, economic evaluation, management, collaboration, and evaluation to develop a comprehensive policy analysis. 5. Students will be able to assess collaborative aspects of policy development and develop plans for systems-level implementation of these collaborations. 6. Students will be able to analyze evidenced-base by understanding statistical analyses with which to applying decision-making.
