CHS 755 - Health Policy and Administration (3 units) Examining public health policy and organizational sciences within health administration.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify the main components and issues of the organization, financing and delivery of health services and public health systems in the US . 2. Students will be able to describe the legal and ethical bases for public health and health services. 3. Students will be able to illustrate the basic policy process for improving the health status of populations. 4. Students will be able to explain quality and performance improvement concepts to address organizational performance issues. 5. Students will be able to apply “systems thinking” for resolving organizational problems. 6. Students will be able to communicate health policy and management issues using through written and oral communication.
