CS 426 - Senior Projects in Computer Science (3 units) CO14 Supervised group or team projects with emphasis on implementation of engineered design.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 102 ; CH 201 or CH 202 or CH 203 or CH 212 ; CS 425 with a “C” or better; Junior or Senior standing.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs, within realistic constraints specific to the field. 2. Students will have an ability to function effectively on multi-disciplinary teams. 3. Students will have an ability to analyze a problem, and identify, formulate and use the appropriate computing and engineering requirements for obtaining its solution. 4. Students will have an understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities. 5. Students will have an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences. 6. Students will have the broad education necessary to analyze the local and global impact of computing and engineering solutions on individuals, organizations, and society. 7. Students will have an ability to apply design and development principles in the construction of software systems or computer systems of varying complexity.
