ECON 663 - International Monetary Relations

Analysis of the theory of international capital movements, exchange rates, the balance of payments, international monetary relations, the effects of government monetary, fiscal and exchange rate policy, and international institutions.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the determinants of monetary exchange rates and reasons for their changes.
2. Students will be able to relate a country’s balance of payments, and its monetary and financial policies to its exchange rate.
3. Students will be able to describe the role of international economic and monetary institutions.
4. Students will be able to analyze the effect of changes in domestic economic policies to international balance of payments and exchange rates.
