Focus on issues central to multicultural education scholarship such as: immigration, globalization, democratic education and citizenship.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to illustrate knowledge of historical macro-level theories that have been used to understand the multifaceted expressions of globalization.
2. Students will be able to engage in a critical analysis of current frameworks that attend to the relationship between globalization and education.
3. Students will be able to demonstrate familiarity with key processes in which highly digitalized spaces impact identity construction of youth.
4. Students will be able to display mini-specialization in one aspect of globalization and education through the completion of a research project.
5. Students will be able to demonstrate critical and analytical skills in transferring theory into practice in the development of critical educational responses to globalization.
