EL 722 - Crucial Issues In Ed (3 units) Problem analysis of timely issues in education analyzing their legal, historical, sociological and philosophical dimensions with focus on problems of continuing concern.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills to analyze arguments and positions of a variety of educational professionals. 2. Students will be able to write a critical review related to selected current topics. 3. Students will be able to conduct a review of literature related to origins, nature, purposes, and tactics of various interest groups related to public education. 4. Students will be able to analyze the effects of social, economic, and political contexts in relationship to student achievement.
