EL 759 - Student Retention and Success Strategies (3 units) Examines research and strategies used by higher education institutions to improve student retention and success.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify strategies used by higher education institutions that promote student success. 2. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of different types of institutions and the impact on students. 3. Students will be able to analyze the effectiveness of retention programs at institutions of higher education. 4. Students will be able to analyze retention research conducted on college and university students. 5. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the factors that impact retention of specific groups of students. 6. Students will be able to demonstrate improved skills of oral and written communication.
