JOUR 755 - Engagement (3 units)
The role of engagement and participation in journalism. We will study examples of community engagement, learn tools for engagement and create and run a participatory journalism project.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to use in a professional way, a range of social media tools for reporting and engaging with audiences on journalistic subjects.
2. Students will be able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
3. Students will be able to brainstorm, prototype, strategize and execute story and engagement projects relevant to journalism.
4. Students will be able to measure the impact of engagement efforts with their audiences.
