CHS 350 - US Health Care System: Management and Administration

Overview of the U.S. health care system, its structure, and challenges in today’s environment.

Corequisite(s): CHS 101 .

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to summarize the history and major milestones in the development of our health care system.
2. Students will be able to describe the continuum of care in today’s health care systems environment.
3. Students will be able to identify the various professional guilds that participate in the US Care System.
4. Students will be able to demonstrate the skills of Quality Improvement in case studies.
5. Students will be able to articulate the quality, cost, value-driven concepts included in the Affordable Care Act.
6. Students will be able to discuss the many roles that technology is participating in with patient care diagnostic equipment, clinical decision-making, administrative services, and the financing of services.
