CHS 754 - Health Informatics Methods

(3 units)
Providing students with knowledge and practical skills in public health informatics, focusing on preparing, designing, developing and implementing health information systems.

Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to analyze the different methodological consideration and approaches when design and develop a health information system.
2. Students will be able to apply information technology to access, evaluate, and interpret public health data.
3. Students will be able to evaluate and apply basic ethical and legal principles pertaining to the collection, maintenance, use and dissemination of epidemiologic data.
4. Students will be able to apply the statistical software package (SAS) and MS-ACCESS to develop and manage health data systems.
