ART 102 - Drawing II (3 units) Intermediate course designed to develop expression and discipline in drawing with emphasis on materials.
Maximum units a student may earn: 6
Prerequisite(s): ART 100 ; ART 101 .
Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. visually communicate concepts and ideas using various drawing techniques. 2. demonstrate improved ability to visualize and organize a composition through the understanding of the elements of drawing. 3. recognize concepts in drawing and develop their own ideas and styles in art. 4. engage and utilize more sophisticated creative concepts with forms, space, techniques and composition. 5. produce projects that images and compositions demonstrate growth in the development of personal iconography, i.e. style. 6. demonstrate an ability to work with different kinds of media on various kinds of drawing surfaces. 7. discuss the context of their work in terms of art history and contemporary drawing and speak articulately and critically about their own work and work of others.
