CEE 642 - Fundamentals of Geotechnical Engineering (3 to 4 units) Weight-volume relationships and soil compaction; permeability and seepage; consolidation and settlement; shear strength and application to lateral earth pressure, bearing capacity and slope stability. (CEE 642 and GE 642 are cross-listed; credit may be earned in one of the two.)
