CTL 650 - General Secondary Teaching Methods (4 units)
Introduces the preservice teacher to reflective lesson planning, teaching and assessment through coursework and field experiences in middle school and high school.
Prerequisite(s): Accepted into a degree seeking graduate program.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. develop a teaching philosophy consistent with current theories on effective instructional practices.
2. effectively engage secondary students in active learning through utilizing multiple teaching strategies.
3. apply observation and reflection skills to identify strengths and weakness in one’s own teaching and develop strategies to improve upon one’s teaching abilities.
