Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. analyze formal aspects of literary narrative, including plot, point of view, setting, character, and dialogue.
2. articulate the relationships between form and content within texts.
3. write a textual analysis that relies on and integrates textual evidence and appropriate secondary sources.
4. identify the defining features of the major genres of prose, poetry, and drama.
