GEOL 260 - Introductory Field Geology (2 units) Basic map interpretation, geologic mapping, sampling, report writing. All coursework is done during spring break. Report and map are due the week after spring break.
Prerequisite(s): GEOL 211 .
Units of Laboratory/Studio: 2 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. locate themselves on a map and utilize a compass to make geological measurements. 2. describe rocks in the field. 3. identify and map geological units in the field.
