Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate, through group discussions and in writing, an understanding of the common elements of all families, as well as the diversity of family life and structure in the United States. 2. critically assess, through group discussions and in writing, how political, socioeconomic, cultural, and gender factors directly impact the lives of families and their individual members. 3. articulate, through group discussions and in writing, the components of healthy family relationships and strategies to support their development.
