MATH 253 - Matrix Algebra (3 units) Introduces linear algebra, including matrices, determinants, vector spaces, linear transformations, eigenvectors and eigenvalues.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 182 with a “C-” or better.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. represent systems of equations using matrices. 2. solve matrix equations using Gaussian elimination. 3. demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental concepts of finite dimensional vector spaces. 4. find the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a given square matrix.
