SOC 728 - Collective Behavior and Mass Society (3 units) Analysis of social behavior at the societal level, including attitude formation, mass communication, crowd behavior and social movements.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate understanding of the major theories of social movement development/emergence as well as how social movements affect society. 2. identify and describe historical and contemporary social movements in the U.S. and abroad. 3. articulate in written form the relevance of theories and research in the field of social movement studies to a unique topic of interest.
