Study of jury decision-making from psychological, sociological and justice perspectives. Discussion of how litigants, lawyers, victims, legal processes and society affect criminal and civil verdicts.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. apply theories on jury decision-making to selected court cases.
2. describe, explain, and defend an original position on jury decision-making based on previous research, justice principles, and legal theory.
3. synthesize and interpret dominant theories on jury decision-making.
4. contrast and evaluate previous research and legal discourse on juries and jury decision-making.
