ECON 789 - Internship (1 to 3 units) Internship with business firms, governmental agencies and other organizations, providing students with practical experience and applied problems in economics.

Grading Basis: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Units of Internship/Practicum: 1 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. work in a professional setting, demonstrate their knowledge of a specific issue posed by the employer, and articulate relevant contextual information that frames the issue. 2. effectively utilize academic journal articles to gain demonstrable insight about a business or policy issue and apply that knowledge as they work to address the issue. 3. apply knowledge and skills from classes in economics and related subjects, to address a business or policy issue.
