EDSP 653 - Behavior Management Techniques for Students with Disabilities (3 units) Developing, implementing and evaluating special education consultation, resource and self-contained programs. Assessment and intervention into problem behaviors.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. appropriately use at least three data collection methods to gather data on student behaviors in order to assess a problem behavior and develop a hypothesis for the possible function of the problem behavior. 2. design positive behavior support plans that pair the appropriate behavioral interventions for hypothesized functions of problem behaviors. 3. evaluate data collected after implementation of an intervention plan in order to assess the effectiveness of the plan in effecting behavior change.
