PSC 795 - Comprehensive Examination (1 to 3 units) Course is used by graduate programs to administer comprehensive examinations either as an end of program comprehensive examination or as a qualifying examination for doctoral candidates prior to being advanced to candidacy.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. devise original submissions that demonstrate a deep and through understanding of the relevant literature, theoretical debate, and key ideas related to both theory and practice. 2. show their advanced ability to draw on both previously learned and recently-acquired knowledge of the literature, research techniques, research experience, and analytical thinking in applying theory and practice critically by answering the exam prompt. 3. explore the relevant literature and offer a coherent argument to demonstrate mastery of the field, which they are being tested in.
