CHE 234 - Principles of Chemical Engineering (4 units) Introduction to chemical calculations emphasizing unit equations, process stoichiometry, material and energy balances, states of matter, simulation of steady-state and transient processes, and case studies.
Maximum units a student may earn: 4
Prerequisite(s): CHE 102 ; CHEM 202 ; MATH 181 with a “C” or better.
Units of Lecture: 4 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 3. acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
