CRJ 106 - Introduction to Corrections (3 units) CO11 History and analysis of development in corrections, recent innovations and future correctional systems structure and programs.
Prerequisite(s): CRJ 104 (or CRJ 101 or CRJ 102).
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a general understanding of correctional systems in the United States. 2. identify historical and contemporary themes, trends, and issues in correctional systems in the United States. 3. articulate the global contexts of correctional history and reform. 4. identify similarities and differences in how the United States and other countries approach institutional and community-based corrections.
