CS 426 - Senior Projects in Computer Science (3 units) CO14 Supervised group or team projects with emphasis on implementation of engineered design.
Prerequisite(s): CSE major; Junior or Senior standing; CS 425 with a “C” or better.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. design, implement, and evaluate a computing or engineering solution to meet a given set of requirements, with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. 2. communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts, with a range of audiences. 3. recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in engineering and computing practice based on legal and ethical principles, considering the impact of solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts. 4. function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline, creating a collaborative and inclusive environment, establishing goals, planning tasks, and meeting objectives. 5. apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.
