Prerequisite(s): Two from CH 201 , CH 202 or CH 212 , CH 203 ; Junior or Senior standing.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. articulate the relationships among authors, texts, and readers. 2. employ literary terminology appropriate to the study of the genre(s) covered in class. 3. engage in close reading and critical interpretation of a wide range of texts relevant to the theme(s) covered in class. 4. discuss the features and development of, as well as the historical, cultural, and social contexts for, the theme(s) relevant to the course.
