ENG 799 - Dissertation (1 to 24 units) Prerequisite(s): Admission to graduate standing in the department of English.
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. situate their topic in its proper historical/theoretical context. 2. synthesize primary and the relevant secondary literature to write a well-supported introduction to their dissertation topic. 3. frame and engage with critical and theoretical debates appropriate to their dissertation topic. 4. produce a manuscript of professional quality that makes a novel scholarly contribution to the critical conversation.
