GEOG 660 - Ethnic Geography (3 units) Issues confronting ethnic groups in contemporary United States: push and pull factors; migration and refugees; assimilation and segregation; and access to jobs, housing and transportation.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. identify the complex elements important to members of diverse groups within the US in relation to their history, values, politics, economy or beliefs and practices. 2. analyze ways in which ethnic and racial groups within the US differ and how such differences position them in relation to one another. 3. describe how ethnicity and race become articulated in places and landscapes across the US.
