GEOL 689 - Exploration and Mining Geology (4 units) Geologic and economic principles and the technology used in exploration, evaluation, development, and mining of ore deposits. Mine mapping, field trips.
Units of Lecture: 3 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe principles underlying mineral exploration. 2. recognize geochemical parameters that lead to mineral deposits. 3. recognize and map geology, alteration, and mineralization in the field.
