GEOL 783 - Groundwater Hydraulics (3 units) Mechanics of groundwater flow through porous and fractured media; boundary conditions and analytical solutions to subsurface flow problems including flow to wells; aquifer parameter estimation.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. examine a physical system and be able to develop a mathematical statement for groundwater flow. 2. select (and manipulate) coordinate systems and write governing equations in various coordinate systems. 3. select and apply appropriate boundary and initial conditions in order to solve problems either analytically or numerically.
