IS 360 - Internet Programming I (3 units) Covers elementary to intermediate level concepts and skills, design criteria, tools, and languages required to develop a functional business web site for a business application.
Prerequisite(s): IS 201 ; Business major or minor.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. develop, test and deploy HTML 5 documents to the Internet. These HTML 5 documents are made up of standard tags, semantic tags, links, input elements, and other tags. 2. utilize cascading style sheets (CSS 3) to format HTML 5 documents. 3. develop JavaScript so as to validate user input. 4. develop JavaScript that operates with the Document Object Model (DOM). 5. develop Asynchronous JavaScript (AJAX) code that will connect with Web Services including the Yahoo Query Language (YQL) and other APIS. 6. use jQuery to create interactive HTML 5 documents. 7. use jQuery widgets to create a robust Web user interface.
