IS 470 - Computer Security, Controls, and Information Assurance (3 units) What legal, financial, and operational tasks managers must accomplish in order to protect computer hardware, software, and operations from accidental or intentional harm.
Prerequisite(s): IS 350 or CS 135 ; Business major or minor.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. recognize and analyze primary threat scenarios of potential vulnerabilities for selected settings. 2. identify typical safeguards for computer-based information assets. 3. evaluate and explain organizational policies for information security and privacy. 4. propose limited risk analyses and potential organizational responses. 5. identify appropriate organizational structure within selected typical circumstances.
