JPN 212 - Second Year Japanese II (3 units) Continuation of structural analysis of spoken and written Japanese. Completion of JPN 212 satisfies the College of Liberal Arts foreign language requirement .
Prerequisite(s): JPN 211.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. recognize the main idea of texts related to everyday life, and communicate using honorific and extra-modest forms. 2. participate in conversations on a number of familiar topics such as part-time job, shopping, etc., using simple sentences, and be able to handle short social interactions by asking and answering simple questions. 3. orally present information on most familiar topics using a series of simple sentences and some connected sentences. 4. write about familiar topics, and present information using a series of simple sentences and connected sentences. 5. demonstrate the ability to listen to and understand some of the main idea on a variety of topics related to everyday life, personal interests, and studies. 6. recognize the main idea of written texts related to everyday life and personal interests or studies.
