MUS 428 - Opera Literature (2 units) Detailed consideration of selected operas of the various nationalities and periods in music history.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 341 ; MUS 342 .
Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Spring - Even Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze the variety of social, cultural, migrational, ethnic, and gendered contexts that inform opera. 2. speak and write about opera with nuance. 3. apply their knowledge of opera history to their area of specialization.
