NURS 757 - Role of the FNP Managing Chronic Illness in Primary Care (3 units) Synthesis of the FNP role in primary care settings, focusing on selected chronic illnesses, across the lifespan. Builds upon Primary Care I and II.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. utilize knowledge and skills from previous courses to assess, diagnose, and treat chronic illnesses in clients. 2. provide comprehensive health education and health maintenance interventions to clients with chronic health problems. 3. identify appropriate referral mechanisms for clients. 4. integrate nursing theory into the delivery of advance practice nursing care. 5. begin to integrate into practice, the competencies (within the seven domains) identified by the NONPF guidelines.
