NURS 778 - GIS for Health (3 units) Introduces the use of epidemiologic methods and modern geographic information systems to analyze the relationships between socioeconomic, physical, geopolitical, and demographic factors and population health.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. apply descriptive and analytic epidemiologic techniques in population health assessment. 2. demonstrate ability to use GIS to evaluate the health of a population. 3. collaborate with team members to assess an urban area using epidemiologic and GIS data.
