NUTR 670 - Community Nutr (3 units) Programs, policy, nutrition assessment, planning and evaluation in the community setting.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe the roles, responsibilities and work settings of community nutrition professionals. 2. assess the nutrition needs of individuals and communities. 3. delineate how federal nutrition programs meet the unique needs of individuals across the lifespan with particular emphasis on food insecurity. 4. apply knowledge of the role of environment, food and lifestyle choices to develop interventions to affect change and enhance wellness in diverse individuals and groups. 5. demonstrate effective and professional oral and written communication and documentation and use of current information technologies when communicating with individuals, groups and the public. 6. effectively explain the impact of a policy position on dietetics practice.
