PHIL 438 - Problems in the History and Philosophy of Science (3 units) Selected topics in scientific revolutions, theory choice, discovery, relation of history, philosophy, sociology and psychology of science.
Prerequisite(s): 6 credits in philosophy.
Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze, evaluate, and interpret primary sources. 2. analyze and clearly explain the argument, main points, and use of evidence in secondary sources. 3. clearly and effectively articulate an original interpretation in verbal and written form. 4. identify key events, issues, and policies related to selected topics in scientific revolutions, theory choice, discovery, relation of history, philosophy, sociology and psychology of science.
