SPAN 622 - Special Topics in Translation (3 units)
Selected issues and problems in the theory and practice of translation, e.g., theories of translation, literacy translation, legal translation, techno-scientific translation.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. identify main issues and concerns in translating literary texts.
2. categorize and analyze literary and cultural concepts pertinent to literary translation.
3. demonstrate their comprehension of the main principles of literary translation by translating texts from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English.
4. describe various perspectives in literary translation by completing a commentated translation of a major literary text.
5. demonstrate understanding of bibliographic resources in Translation Studies.
