CS 219 - Computer Organization (3 units) Introduction to organization and integration of computer components. Topics include: computer abstractions and performance, arithmetic operations, instruction set architecture, assembly programming, datapath, pipelining, memory hierarchy, I/O, and parallel architectures.
Prerequisite(s): CPE 201 with a “C” or better; CS 202 with a “C” or better.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. design, implement, and evaluate a computing or engineering solution to meet a given set of requirements, with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors. 2. acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
