EDSP 682 - Assessment of Gifted and Talented Students (3 units)
Models for evaluation for gifted learners, assessment techniques and awareness of the influences of language, culture, ethnicity, gender, and exceptionality on recognition and identification of giftedness.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. prepare scholarly discussion papers related to assessment and identification of gifted learners.
2. assess gifted and talented research and data and develop a resource packet.
3. analyze various instruments that are used for identification of giftedness in schools.
4. evaluate best practices in gifted students, achievement and academic growth monitoring and assessment.
5. demonstrate an understanding of the identification of a gifted and talented learner.
