EDSP 683 - Methodology and Strategies for Teaching Gifted and Talented Students (3 units) Explores programming, strategies, assessment, project based learning, differentiation, and teaching models for teachers to be effective in working with students who are identified as gifted and talented.
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. describe at least 5 differentiation strategies that support gifted and talented students. 2. compare teaching models used in gifted classroom and develop lesson plans appropriate for instruction. 3. describe a classroom environment that fosters opportunities for exploration, acceptance and support for gifted students. 4. design a project-based learning unit to meet the unique academic, social, and intellectual needs of gifted learners.
