HDFS 710 - Collaborative Problem Solving (3 units) Explore community based problem solving through the application of subject matter expertise with structured collaborative processes.
Units of Lecture: 1.5 Units of Discussion/Recitation: 1.5 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. address community based issues using concepts, principles, and structure of collaborative problem solving processes. 2. design a community-based outreach program. 3. conduct a community conflict situation assessment. 4. develop a plan for evaluating collaborative solving processes and/or outreach programs. 5. critique and summarize articles, documents, and texts pertaining to collaborative community-based problem solving. 6. develop, implement, and evaluate educational outreach programs that address complex public issues.
